Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice. Canned 5/23/24.

Appearance: light orange hue with a fair dose of haze and a thick head of pillowy eggshell foam which leaves a chunky lace on the glass.

Smell: rich, almost dank, tropical aroma with plenty of passionfruit. There’s a sweet maltiness that almost has a bit of a toast to it as well. I quite like it.

Taste: sweet malt with more of that tropical character; perhaps a little more toward citrus peel than passionfruit, though. There’s a bit of a harshness to the bitterness, though, that does detract a bit for me. It’s not crazy bitter or anything, but it’s just not very … I don’t know, soft, the way a NEIPA should be in my mind.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a pretty solid hazy, but I think this one is maybe a little rough around the edges. Is it supposed to be sharp like a knife? Or is it supposed to be totally smooth, like a finely-honed blade? Anyway, not bad, but not quite my favorite.
