From the 16 oz wax dipped can in a snifter with a HUGE thanks to The Little Lady's Daughter---Cheers Jeanette!
This stunner pours a deep muddled brownish black with a modest head of sizzling foam that fades nothing,
BUT has great legs with a swirl! Nose of heavy bourbon, oak, rich vanilla, toffee, brown sugars, dates,
figs, and heavy astringent booze. Flavors pack a punch above the nose with mellow bourbon to the
fore, rich vanilla, toffee, oak, vinous brandy notes, subtle tamarind, date bread, spice cake, and
earthy malts. Mouth feel is medium leaning towards medium full, faint to zero carbonation,
smooth as silk, rich, warming, I can't feel my face....did I mention rich? Finishing sweet but balanced,
refined, and well put together.
Of note some dark cherry appears with warmth.
Overall a stellar brew where the bourbon is mellow but shouts in flavor. Everything
is well placed and proper for the style.
Stellar!
Cheers
