Bottle. Colour is damn near midnight on a moonless night in the Alvord Desert. Nose is booze, black treacle, molasses and burnt cassis. Palate is ultra thick and coating with heady booze, date syrup, prune purée and a very long and heady finish.

This tastes like when you’re in a video game and fighting a bad guy who does a “darkness” type thing where your character can’t see for awhile so it’s temporarily incapacitating. To that end, this beer briefly allows you see yourself in the third person as well, so you know you are in darkness but will eventually claw/happen your way out of it. Totally overwhelming but dry enough to see the light at the end. An experience of misery that will be fondly recalled. Bought a bottle and I’ll come back and update this review when I open it in 5 years.
