Dark brown where light passes through the center of the glass. Little (off white, not beige) head. No lace.
Sweet, chocolatey aroma. It's almost like a fudge brownie.
Okay, I need to note the thinness of this beer, accentuated by the higher carbonation. The flavor is of semisweet chocolate. There's a mild hop presence giving this beer decent balance. Long cocoa finish and aftertaste.

750ml bottle bottled on a monday in Beijing consumed on thursday in Salt Lake City. Thanks Wang Yan! Pours a deep dark brown. Lacks full carbonation (this beer traveled 5800 miles in 2 day in a flip top). Smells of roasted grain chocolate and a bit of coffee. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a bit of raisins. Easy drinking and a lighter mouth feal than expected for such a dark beer. Good beer.

A few short notes made on location a while ago:
big dark fruit (classic raisin, but topped with a nice sour cherry); big roasted malts; coffee, dar chocolate notes; subtle, maybe a bit low citrusy hops, that bring a zestiness; porter spices (cocoa, cinnamon); a nice roasted porter, surprisingly light
