Splitting the hanger with Admiral Maltings and the Rake is Almanac’s brewery and tasting room. Plenty of seating inside and outdoors—on a sunny day that can’t be beat—and a full range of Almanac options.

Sitting in an industrial space of Alameda, the exterior doesn't look like a whole lot. There is a 'wall' of barrels to separate the patio space of Almanac from The Rake, and some awnings to offer cover to customers who elect to sit outdoors. Interior is a big industrial space, with an immediate line of sight to the brewing equipment. Rest of the space is full of long picnic tables similar to a beer hall. A long wooden bar runs on the right side of the room, offering no seats, but plenty of space to walk up and order. Selection is pretty darn wide, with everything from hop-forward to barrel aged stouts and sours. Some to-go beer is offered as well, and can be consumed on site, or taken home.

Almanac's taproom at the old Naval Air Station in Alameda opened last fall right next door to Admiral Maltings. It's a spacious place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. And of course lots of very tasty beer!
