Appearance: Very dark brown with crimson hues. A dense rocky head leaves sticky chunks of froth all over the glass.
Smell: Somewhat earthy and aged. Roasted malt adn slight fruit aromas.
Taste: Sugary sweet, and a touch of bitter accompanied by a complex nut-like malt flavour. A bit of diacetyl to coat the tongue. So mellow and sweet that it is like sipping sweet wort.
Notes: Very smooth, extremely drinkable. One might ask, "Is this the best of the English Brown Ales?"
