this is just fantastic beer, a bretty and funky version of the style that so many random little breweries make so poorly, i was super impressed with both the overall quality and the uniqueness of this gose. its pale and yellow, looks the part, fizzy soda head on the initial pour, little activity after that visually. the nose is bretty for sure, usually these have a very one dimensional lacto tartness or sweaty weirdness to them, and while there is some acidity and sour to it, i think the other yeasts are equal contributors, and i really like that. the funk to acid mixture is the great success of this one. fruity in nose and taste too, with a tropical bouquet that includes mango, passion fruit, and lemon. great tang on the front end, dry and acidic later on, but incredibly drinkable because its so nuanced and interesting. not sure how they got this much flavor worked into such a sessionable brew, i taste the wheat malt nice and fresh too through all the yeast layers. this is a remarkable brew for a brewery i have never heard of before this beer, and honestly represents one of the best gose styles i have had this year so far. absolutely worth seeking out, i was really impressed with it. different from any gose i have ever had, the funk is awesome, and the fruity suggestions make it more dynamic than nearly any other. awesome beer!
