On cask at the brewery itself during Gravity Head. Poured/pulled into a 10oz glass.
Appearance- Amber dark brown with a syrup like consistancy. A head with big bubbles. Spider man wispy web lacing across the top. Lacing clings to the sides nicely.
Smell- Not much to smell, really. Nearly no nose, some Maris Otter malt, that's about it. Wet Cardboard, but only oxidized as it should be. Not over the top with the oxidation.
Taste- Thick, casky and not bad really. Has some plum, raisin, cardboard, cashew, and peanut butter. Cask flavour is not prominent or lingering which is why I sometimes avoid casks. So this cask is better! Really one of the better and smoother drinking casked beers I have sampled.
Mouthfeel- Not lingering like 12% would seem. Warming, not sticky, medium bodied, and creamy.
Drinkability- It's easy drinking and great, but with that gravity it's not so great for an all day session.
