12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/10/2020. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy dark ruby red/brown color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread/crust, toasted biscuit, and roasted nuts; with lighter notes of coffee, chocolate, wood, herbal, grass, and peppery hops. Slight dark fruits. Light herbal, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread/crust, toasted biscuit, roasted nuts, coffee, chocolate, wood, herbal, grass, and pepper on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light earthy hop notes; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an awesome bock. All around awesome dark/roast/bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel. Awesome clean caramel/munich/roasted malt showcase, with nice noble hop presence/balance. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected of the brewery. Loved it.

Rich malty flavor that tilts more toward the bitter/chocolatey side but has just enough sweetness to provide some balance. I agree with the other reviewer that this beer has a very nice, thick mouthful, which to me is its best quality. One of the best Michigan beers I've had.

Pours a medium dark brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. No discernable aroma. Tastes of roasted malts and sweet caramel. Good mouth feel.
