Charge your glasses with the drink that fuelled the British armies in 1812. This traditional recipe, light bodied, smooth drinking, English style Bitter has a copper brown colouring, a floral/roasted malt scent and a taste of rye bread and black coffee. Raise a glass to 200 years of peace.

Enjoyed a couple pints on tap while out at a father's day celebration at the Benchmark Restaurant at Niagara Teaching College.

Appearance - A fine bronzey colour, poured with a finger of white head that left some lacing and had good retention. Slightly cloudy with modest carbonation.

Smell - Loads of coarse grain, a slightly fruity ester. Inviting and aromatic for a lower ABV beer.

taste - Pretty much like the nose, lots of grain, clean with more bitterness than on the nose. A classic and very solid bitter.

Mouthfeel - Smooth and light bodied, I could certain drink more pints over the course of a Saturday afternoon with baseball and Euro 2016 action on tap. Carbonation is just right.

Overall - Butler's Bitter is a well crafted English Bitter that is certain worth a try, if you ever have the opportunity to try it. Paired nicely with the cheese platter and the seared scallops entree I enjoyed.

This beer is terrific. Not many English ales/bitters this side of the pond are this good. This might be more like a pale than a bitter, but just a terrific beer.

Great color, terrific malty flavor, some fruity esters, good hop balance and mineral type flavors you'd get with the hard waters in England. Tastes very much like Fullers London Pride or Samuel Smith Pale Ale. By far the best beer I had during my trip to Niagra Falls, truly a highlight of our visit.

If you enjoy authentic English ales, this is a MUST have beer. I was able to find this on draft at Edgewaters near the Canadian falls.
