I had this on-tap in a snifter at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: cloudy rich amber body with a thin layer of creamy ivory foam atop. I think it's quite nice indeed.
Smell: citrusy/lemony aroma with a rich strong-ale malt underneath. Definitely enticing.
Taste: big and piney right up front; tons of evergreen here and tons of vanilla and bourbon-like barrel deliciousness. It's hard to tell if the gin character is due to the barrels or super piney hops. There's also plenty of rich malt and sweetness. Citrusy hop notes and an alcoholic fruitiness are also present. This beer does not lack for complexity!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a light carbonation and a limited creaminess. Not the greatest, but not horrible.
Overall: a fascinating beer. I think I like it more than regular Humulo Nimbus; there is lots of interesting stuff going on here.
