Served (by choice) in a 4oz goblet. Poured a somewhat cloudy, translucent, dark copper-gold color with a trace of khaki head that had good retention and and very good lacing.
There was a light bourbon scent on the nose, which I took as a good sign (I find a lot of BA beers to be overwhelmed by the spirits), and a nice malt base underneath. There was a slight hop tang in the background as well. On the tongue, the bourbon had a much stronger presence, but not so strong as to hide the pleasant base beer. The beer had a bit of sweetness that came through the bourbon, and lingered a bit on the finish.
The body was perhaps a bit lighter than is typical for the style, but helped contribute to the beers smooth drinkability. Overall, a pretty nice take on the style. A must try for BW lovers, and a should-try for the rest of beer lovers.
