Had this last night, Main street brewery has it on a cask which was a new experience for me.
It was served in small tulip glass with zero head. I guess it is not intended to be carbonated. It left a lot of lacing all over the glass, great legs.
The smell was rich and sweet, smelled like fruits, mango, carmelized sugar, pineapple and a slight dankness to it.
Taste was sweet, more pineapple and papaya. The liquid was oily and rich in a good way. it left you with sticky lips. It had just a touch of hop bitterness to wrap up the sweetness but this is definately a malt forward drink.
I would like to try it carbonated but main st brewery is closing this sunday so its too late.

Appearance: Deep copper body capped with a finger of creamy navajo white foam after being drawn with a beer engine. Lacing is over 90% on the tulip glass in which this was presented...quite a bit for a barleywine.
Aroma: Deep malty sweetness with a hint of evergreen and alcohol esters
Taste: Rich malty sweetness on the open which is quickly followed by an acetic, resinous hop blend. Finish is extremely clean, borderline powdery, with a nice warming of the throat from the alcohol
Mouthfeel: Very neat for a barleywine...fully avoiding the solventlike attributes of many of its brethren
Drinkability: Without a doubt, the best pairing for this potent potable is a roaring fire, a loved one, and 'It's a Wonderful Life' for the 243rd time
