This brew is the Ladera Ranch entry into the Backstreet Brewing 'Carpool Experiment' in which the three brewers we given matching quantities of fermentables, hops & spices, and the same White Labs Belgian yeast strain.
This one pours a deep copper capped with a dense collar of tan foam with outstanding clarity.
Entry is smooth with a subdued level of carbonation allowing orange peel and the Belgian yeast to shine. Mid-taste begins with a deep malt presence combined with complex spiciness.
The finish is dry and ping-pongs between the distinct yeast and malty spices. Mouthfeel is full without chalkiness and finishes dry.
Without a doubt, my favorite of the three experimental beers.
