This was originally brewed for the 06 PP Strong Ale fest. I get a pint of this everytime i go here.
Pours a slightly turbid coppery brown sugar color. It reminded me of what wort looks like in my carboy during fermentation. A half finger of light tan head crowned the top and went down as i got to a half pint. Nice lace on the glass. Aromatic to say the least. Scents of spiced rum cake and waffles dominate.
Taste was quite exquisite. Figs, spices, dates with a little toast come out. A full range of concentrated flavors warm the tongue. Medium bodied with matching carbonation to boot.
I can drink this all day. Actually, i've taken home growlers of this and have been enjoying it on these colld nights. A perfect match to sip while by the fireplace.
