S - Growler recieved from good ol' intriqken in gif 8. thanks man.

A - Pours black with a prominent sticky tan head. You could hold a flashlight to this and still not see through it.

S - Chocolate, fruity scents, slightly smoky, caramel, little alcohol, What am I in for?

T - roasty malt, bitter chocolate, slight tart fruit, touch of smoke, hardly any alcohol present. wow, knocked me on my arse it was so damn tasty.

M - the perfect balance of viscosity cut with a slightly dry finish.

D - For being a double stout it kicks ass. What a beer.

Pours a dark midnight hue curtain of nothing. Scents are deep and evil with a cornicopia of scents, a bevy of brilliance.

Flavors rush in with chocolate pudding thickness, roated and toasted malts, and dark fruit abound. If this were bottled, I'd be in Heaven. Flavors run the gamut of the kitchen sink.

Full bodied is an understatement! Bring a knife and a fork kiddies!

This is a spectacular RIS.

Ok, this was a surprise...a very pleasant one.
Fresh...raw Imperial Stouts are usually bitter, too strong, too raw and definitely need some time to mellow.
Not this one.
Pours jet black...no light gets in here.
Massive tan head...almost no stopping it. Was really hard filling a growler.
Sticky lacing left behind.
Flavors are dark bitter chocolate, roasted almonds, bitter dark espresso coffee, a hint of dark candied fruits.
Mouthfeel is rich and creamy and thick.
Aftertaste surprisingly melts to dry crispness. Nothing cloying.
I bought two growlers to send to friends and will have to return tomorrow for one for myself.
This is EXCELLENT.

Had this on tap at the Irvine location. Dave the Irvine brewer said it was brewed at the Vista location by Dave the Vista brewer.

Poured an ink black/soda pop brown with no light penetration. This was dark as space yet rich and vibrant. Small detectable legs on the swirl. A nice creamy head formed on the pour with a crisp burnt chocolate chip color to it. At first the aromas were very feint so i gave my glass multiple swirls and let it warm up a tad. This opened the door to wonders of roastiness. Roasted malt, toasted coffee beans and burnt toast fill the nose. A solid wall of aromas fills your senses.

The taste was just a solid interpretation of an imperial stout. I get more roasted malt, chocolate covered coffee beans followed by cocoa powder with some charred biscuit with a small pinch of alcohol warmth. I wanted to let my pint warm up some more but i couldn't wait and just kept drinking it. I really like this one. Medium heavy on the body and a good carbonation that you can actually feel. (I dont like it when folks make stouts that are less carbonated). This stout is bold, yet mellow at the same time. Definitely one to drink.
