EDIT: This brew is actually brewed at the Ladera Ranch Backstreet.
Wow, what an amazing beer. First let me say i didnt know what category to put this under. It was called a smoked lager so i entered it as a euro dark lager. The name is also a sign, like Prince's sign, but it's the *. So i just put the name Asterisk. On the brewer's board it's listed as " * " Smoked Lager.
Poured a very vibrant and sharp soda pop and mohogany color. When held up to the light, reddish hues radiated throughout my glass. A small tan head formed a little after the pour and hung around for a short while. Aromas of sticky brown sugar and toast bread waff out of my glass.
The taste is somewhat of sweetened baked biscuits with burnt ends. A little cereal tasting grainy on the flavor with sugar like something you'd have in the morning. Quite balanced and smooth. The alcohol is not detectable. Rather crisp and on the palate it's on the lighter side of medium.
A very tasty beer. I couldnt detect anything really smoked but i dont really care because this is pretty damn tasty. I'm going to have another pint of it tonight so i may edit my notes.
