Had this on tap. According to the bartender its an extra pale ale. The color would certainly agree with that and it seemed to have more alcohol than their regular Pacific Pale Ale.
It poured a nice pale light golden color that had a good amount of bubbles coming out of solution. It produced a 1/2 inch head that disapeared after about a minute. It smelled nice too. The smell of the hops comes out real strong with this beer. There is a definite grapefruit smell there. I couldn't find any info on exactly what hops were used but I'm fairly certain that they use the same aroma hops that Avery uses in their Hog Heaven.
Once I tried the beer I stopped liking it so much. The good part was that its a west coast style pale ale but it had some funky off flavors. A bit of a chalk like quality and a strange aftertaste. Mouthfeel was a bit thin and overall I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to buy it again.
