Consumed at Hamilton's Tavern, San Diego CA, 05/21/08.
Very clear, very dark amber fluid. Almost no head, no carbonation (as appropriate for a cask ale).
Aroma is caramel and nuts.
Strong oat and raisin flavors with a caramel background. These flavors are fine and this would have probably been much better had the flavor not been ruined by some kind of oxidization, infection or some other flavor calamity. I was told the cask was less than 48 hours old when I had this, but it tasted much older.
After three sips, I returned this undrinkable beer to the bar and asked for something different.
