Had at the Green Flash 6th anniversary
A - Murky black body with a little bit of off white head and good lacing
S - Strong roasted malts and wheat
T - Roasted malt and roasted chocolate. Wheat with multiple fruit profiles piled on top
M - Medium body with medium carbonation
D - Easy to drink. Unique experience but not a main stay. Kinda enjoyable.

On tap at Back Street Brewery / Lamppost Pizza in Vista, CA. I'm here on the first Tuesday of the month with friends.
A: Very dark brown going on black
S: I didn't take notes, so honestly can't remember what it smelled like. My bad
T: roasted malts, toasty, sesame oil, typical hef banana.
M: Very light, almost too light. medium carbonation
D: I love the name. Who wouldn't? It has amazing marketability, I wish Back Street would bottle. I can only imagine the label. This is a very interesting brew. The description and the waitreses were referring this as a "Chocolate Heffeweizen." Chocolate Covered Bananna's anyone? It sounded REALLY great. I really thought it DID taste like a chocholate hef at first, but upon drinking more, it tastes like toasted sesame oil. Which is a oil used in asian cooking a lot. Now it's all I can think about. I wish it had more chocolate and banana flavors and less roasted malt flavor. Not very complex, so it can get tiring, but I still like it, and will continue enjoy it once a month as I visit Back Street every month religiously. I hope it doesn't go away (as Back Streets brew menu rotates semi-frequently).

Consumed 12/03/08 at Blue Palms, Hollywood, CA.
Deep mahogany beer with no discernable highlights. A one finger, very fine tan head sits stop the brew.
Dark, smoky, oak-roasted, meaty nuts are what my nose tells me.
A little thin in the mouth.
Strong dark overroasted malt flavor. Wood and nuts as in aroma. A somewhat traditional hefe banana flavor is mixed in the melange as well.
I liked the flavor, but it grew a bit tedious by the bottom of the pint.
It's very difficult to classify this hybrid beer correctly. The brewer's description: "Wheat ale brewed with chocolate and crystal German wheat malts with the addition of roasted Peruvian Cacao and fermented with a traditional Bavarian yeast strain. A unique flavor combination of dark chocolate, coffee, and bananas."
