Description: A session IPA with plenty of hops.
On tap at Backstreet Brewing Vista.
A: Light gold in color. Head is white and very small as a result of the subpar bar pour.
S: Aroma isn't super expressive, but there are no evident flaws. Pretty much completely devoid of malt influence. Light floral notes meld with resinous pine. Faint tangerine and oranges.
T: Dry with a lower moderate bitterness. Faint orange notes. This is damn dry, without even a modicum of sweetness. There's some grapefruit rind and a touch of pine. Finishes dry, as expected.
M: Upper light in body with upper moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is crisp, sticky, and dry.
Overall: A damn drinkable and solid IPA.

Hmm.... a rare session IPA that declares itself to be so. Had to get a growler of this.
Backstreet brewery is really stepping their game up. The return of Rambler, a pretty good double stout (MGB) just hit, and now this.
Pours a bright golden orange. Big white sudsy head. Big time floral bouquet on the nose. Pretty overwhelming. Some fresh sliced grapefruit and some pineapple in there, too. Dankness abounds. Wow. Where did this come from?
Taste is all hops ... basically no malt content at all. None. What sweetness I detect is from an orange/grapefruit undercurrent. Earthy, dank, bitter, dank, a bit of tropical essence, dank, dank, dank.
Backstreet hadn't made a good IPA (that I know of) prior to this one, although a few of their DIPAs have been pretty solid. This came out of nowhere. Very refreshing, nice carbonation.
