On tap at Backstreet Vista. An Amber Lager brewed with smoked malt.
A: Dark amber with good clarity and a creamy finger of beige foam.
S: Beechwood smoke is pronounced, accompanied by bread and earth. I get a touch of chocolate with plum and grape.
T: Smoky and lightly fruity, with notes of grape and plum. The smoke is reminiscent of beechwood. There's a low bitterness. Malt is bready and the finish is clean.
M: Medium in body with upper moderate carbonation.
Overall: I can't say that I've ever had a beer like this. Unique and enjoyable.
