This is for the bourbon barrel version, which I just don't want to bother creating, lazy slug that I am. Really lovely pour, reddish/amber body, clear, nice little layer of foam that hangs around a bit. Excellent nose w/ bourbony vanilla and oak, plus some light booze and light fruit. Palate is similar, a touch hot, nice barrel notes, and some fruitiness. This is more American Barleywine to my palate, the hops seeming to lurk in there somewhere, falling more along the lines of Barrel-Aged Bigfoot than Bourbon County Barleywine. Overall, a very pleasant barleywine that the barrel-aged beer lover would be well pleased with indeed.

Had a goblet while visiting the Brewpub this past Saturday. $7.50 for the goblet.
Beer was served with a decent off white head, burgundy in color.
Nose suggested dark fruits with hints of west coast hops.
Taste was pretty well balanced between the malt bill and the hops. The malt bill had a raison like flavor which was balanced nicely with the citrus hops.
Feel was full and satisfying.
Overall this was an enjoyable beer. It did not have the flavor burst like Sierra Nevada but it can stand on its own - try it while it is available!
