Actually has a distinct, floral honey smell to contrast resiny, piney, grapefruit pith hops. Flavor retains some of that floral character, slightly sweet upfront with honey goodness, with resin and bitterness in the finish. There's a touch of muted grapefruit to round out the beer. It's not the most complex, but I'm so glad to finally get a honey beer that retains that character so well. Glad I grabbed a sixer. Only improvement would be more distinct citrus.

Really surprised this got a Very Good. I think it's world class. DIPA, but the honey and grain punch make it a new favorite of mine. Was disappointed to hear this is only a One Time Brew between Holy City and Total Wine. I want more if anyone wants to work out a trade. Try this one!

A: pours a deep golden/bronze color with a slight haze; good head with decent retention but no lacing
S: smells strongly of overripe lychee and melon, a touch of honey in the background that blends nicely with the fruit
T: taste follows the nose; lychee, melon, a little honey, rounded off with a touch of grass; not very bitter at all, especially considering the high IBU
MF: standard DIPA mouthfeel; coats the tongue nicely
O: a really nice DIPA that has a strong lychee and melon flavor and taste that I haven't encountered very often, and never at this intensity
