Cleaning can be fun...at least when your cleaning involves hops. When it came time to either use or discard our first year’s hop collection from the cold room, we decided to use every last leaf to brew an IPA. The end result was this bright, fresh, grassy number, with a relatively tame level of alcohol.

A: Poured from a growler to a pint glass. Had an amber color and a clear texture. There was an inch and a half of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.
S: A big, sharp aroma of hops, grain, and a little citrus.
T: Tasted of hops, hops, and more hops. Also had some malt, citrus, and a slightly grainy quality. I haven't had an IPA with so much hops in a while. This threatens to throw the flavor out of balance, but somehow doesn't.
M: A good amount of carbonation with a bitter finish. Medium-bodied.
O: In spite of some flaws this is a drinkable beer. A somewhat different IPA.
