One of head brewer Terry Hawbaker's first house brews for Farmer's Cabinet. Sampled on tap last night.

Pours a very dark golden ruby color with mahogany edges and completely opaque. I was told that this was brewed still and it poured that way with no head or lacing.

Slightly funky earthy aroma with a decent amount of barrel character and vinous dark fruit notes. Earthy oak and vanilla with subtle funky bug/brett presence. Slight vinegar acetic acid along with some sweet malt and dark fruit notes onthe nose. Hints of grape, dark cherry, raisin and plum. An interesting hybrid of quad, Flanders red and American wild ale.

Medium bodied and despite it being still it still has proper carbonation without being flat/syrupy. Slightly tart and puckering with som funky Brett character and a nice earthy oak barrel presence. Subtle hints if vanilla smooth out the sourness and slight vinegary acetic acid. No solvent just a lingering mouth watering vinegary sourness that compliments the sweeter quad notes. Hints if vinous dark fruit, especially grape, plum, fig and dark cherry. Slight alcohol sweetness but no heat or warmth. Well balanced complex and easy to drink.
