On tap at the Farmers' Cabinet served in a tulip. This brew appears a clear golden color with some lighter yellowish clarity around the edges. A froth of white head sits atop the brew with decent retention. Some spotty to patchy formations of lace stick to the glass.
The smell of this brew is downright fresh and juicy with lots of hop character. There are some melon fruity aspects mixed with some herbs and grassy indications. As it warms up, it picks up a light almost medicinal aspect with lots of leafy hops and yeast quality. All together it smells very bright and fresh with a fruited aspect that seems highlighted not only from the hops but a light touch of fruity alcohol as well.
The taste is green with yeast and displays almost a vegetative quality of leafy and grassy to herbal hops. It is modestly bitter with a lively fruited hop and alcohol flavoring. It has a long rindy aftertaste of oranges meets grapefruit. There is a warming kick of alcohol across the back of the throat which is mild in comparison to the fruity alcohol flavoring.
This is a medium bodied brew with a light level of carbonation. It is excessively drinkable. The alcohol inclusion is fairly warming once the brew comes up to temperature but all in all this is a very easy drinking brew for 7.6%. It drinks more like it is in the 4-5% range than what it was listed as. Very well done across the board. I would certainly drink this again.
