Pours a dark dark brown, thin cap of khaki head, decent sticky lacing. Scent leads with pine resin and grapefruit, malts are moderately sweet with decent roast and toast, faint coffee and chocolate, a little bit of orange on the end. Taste is likewise hop forward, malts are toasty but have a light sweetness, light mustiness and earthiness. Medium bodied, some light graininess, decently slick. Overall, falls in the middle of the style, doesn't try much new or stray from the formula.

Dark brown pour with tints of red, with a small tan head that left a bit of streaky lacing on the glass. Aroma of resinous hops, balanced with dark roasty malts. Fairly oily mouthfeel, medium body, taste of roasty malts, coffee bitterness, piney and citrusy hops, dry finish, pretty typical of the style. Decent overall, and quite drinkable if you're a fan of the style.
