Recently stumbled across my notes from The Festival 2012. Lets do this!
Was told by the girl pouring that this was the "soft maple" version of this beer.
A - Poured a very, very nice cloudy light golden hue with a solid one finger of white creamy head that faded very slowly to leave a thin, thin blanket. Nice side lacing.
S - I really, REALLY wish this went to 11. The beer explodes with strong tropical fruits, mango, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, tangerine, peaches. Mind you, I get no maple whatsoever, but great goodness does this smell amazing.
T - Taste is just as amped up crazy good as the nose. Shocking that they added to fruit to this beer as all of them explode on the pallet. Peach, pineapple, tangerine, mango errupt in a flavour sensation. Only knock would be the lack of any type of wood, in this case maple.
M - Mouthfeel is just exceptional. Tart, sour, dry, almost juicy. Great carbonation, super drinkable.
O - Overall, I think this was everyones favourite beer at The Festival. It was a zoo trying to get this beer after the first session, once people realized just what was being poured in that room. The best beer of the day, hands down.

Draft at The Farmers' Cabinet in Philadelphia, PA.
Pours a cloudy, pale golden orange color with golden yellow edges and a half finger white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic chunks of lace left behind.
Musty, funky aroma that isn't as vinegary as the other variations. Has more of a solvent like acetic presence and a stronger barrel/wood character than the other treatments. Lots of barnyard, cobweb and lactic funk followed by mustard seed and subtle fruit notes. Mostly funk and barrel in the nose.
On the fuller end of medium bodied with a strong tart, puckering presence that isn't too acetic or harsh. Decent amount of sourness but it's countered in the finish by the weird maple presence. Barrel is stronger in this treatment with lots of dry wood and sweet maple. Really odd counterpoint to sour acidity, citrus and light fruit. As it warms I'm picking up some caramel apple and other light fruit. Interesting but just a strange combination of flavors going on here.
