A-Slightly hazed copper with a thin white head that reduces to a thin cap and left spotty lace.

S-Biscuit, cereal grains, a hint of sweetness and a light touch of citrus hops. It's all there and balanced but quite light.

T-Sweet cereal grains up front backed by a hint of light citrus and a touch of apple. All in all fine, but rather light and kind of dull.

M-Medium-light bodied with a fair amount of crispness and light lingering hop flavour.

D-Not bad...certainly balanced and solid but too light for my taste and becomes boring. A good starter brew but not one I would crave and seek out.

Appearance: clear orange in color with a short 1/2" head that falls apart immediately. No lace with this beer.

Smell: some light fruit sweetness is all you can detect here.

Taste: light bread, caramel, plums, hint of graperfuit, and a mellow bitterness makes up a weak flavored pale ale.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp from start to finish. Very short aftertaste.

Drinkability: this is easy to drink but flavor wise you'll get bored quickly.

Found this on the draft list at a little jazz joint in Richmond. Poured a seethru apple cider color with a minimal tan head. A good balance of earty citric hops and a hint of malty sweetness. Juciy, applish with plump fruit flavors burst on the tongue with some sweetness, then an overrider leafy, oakey dryness takes over for a crisp but real dry backbite. A good beer that passes easily with a somewhat slick medium body, but it is a little too fruity for my liking to be sessionable.

Not sure if this replaces the Falmouth or what, but I can't find the former, and here's a review of the James River Pale Ale. Bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: Mildly hazy copper color with good carbonation, a creamy-looking white head with good down-scoping rings and clumps of lacing around the top of the glass.

Smell: Fresh grains and citrus hops with a bit of malt sweetness. Much potential is there, but unfortunately there could be so much more coming though. Balanced, though, it is.

Taste: Initial husky and woody grain flavor, backed my a hint of fruit and malt sweetness, and finishing with some lighter lemon zest-like citrus bitterness. Again, so much potential here. Maybe a double APA should be in order, and they can get these flavors where they need to be?

Mouthfeel: Almost oddly medium-bodied, though the unexpected fullness isn't bad; it was just a bit odd. A decent burst of carbonation at the end makes it slightly creamy.

Drinkability: Seemingly on the lighter side of the APA style, but this was highly drinkable and went down a lot quicker than I thought; the bottle was gone way before I thought it would be initially. Seems fresh and solid, but to get to the point where it reaches its potential, the recipe needs to be tweaked. Still a nice bomber and a good one to have if you're a fan of the style.
