500ml bottle in Weihenstephaner Berlin (€5.80):
Bright golden with a 2cm, foamy head that settles as a thick surface lacing. There's some banana & sweet malts initially with some cloves & coriander, it's still a strong nose despite the low abv. with some spices to close. Banana, spices & some yeast come through with the taste, some bread malts & a lingering tang at the end too. Well carbonated with more to it than expected, a decent Low alcohol alternative that's not too far behind a lot of full strength hefes.

Great looking hefe! Tan with orange tinges, this beer has a great lasting head and spectacular lacing that sticks all over the glass. Clarity is typically cloudy.

Smell is again very hefe. Yeast dominates, with cloves and banana, spices.

Taste is pleasant and tasty, much better than I expected. Yeasty goodness is accented wonderfully with cloves, spices, pepper, apples, pears, bananas, and plenty of wheat. Sweet and slightly sour at the same time, this beer has surprisingly good flavor!

Feel is smooth, medium body, with a yeasty aftertaste.

Drinks very well. Surprised to have so much flavor from such a low ABV beer. This is one "session beer" that certainly meets the criteria.

A - pale color but with some haze/yeast cloudiness.

S - present the typical banana scent of Weihenstephan yeasts but some other (undefined) smell as well

T - does not present the floral essence with banana taste which is typical for the Weisse

M - the light character turns the Weisse into some hybrid tasting but still great beer.... like a Porsche with 90mph cap. still the wheatbeer epxerience.

D - good... but before you go two times light rather take one classic Weisse.

The liquid is hazy; the colour is orange-yellow with a tint of amber. The finger thick head is compact, white and firm. Looks good.

The smell is sour with lots of yeast and fruity esters (green apples, green bananas), peanuts and a mild bitterness.

The taste is wheat-y. Green bananas, yeast, French loaf, apricots, some allspice. The body is lower than the average hefe weiss, but I’ll guess it is the price you pay for 3.2% ABV. The aftertaste is a little bit spicy, some yeast, wheat flour and a long creamy sourness.

The carbonation is strong with lots of small sparkling bubbles. The liquid is creamy.

A genuine Weiss that is sold in the Swedish supermarkets: I like!
