Our light-coloured, spicy single-bock, “Vitus” is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Drinking out of a small goblet.
Pours a slightly hazy gold with a moderate head of tint bubbles.
Smells of lemons, mowed grass.
Good mouth feel. Creamy. Good carbonation.
Tastes of lemon,coriander. Spicy.

Good beer. A little bitter. More hoppy than wheat taste but a big banana flavor. I've had better German beers but Weihenstephaner doesn't ever disappoint.

A gifted half liter bottle of Vitus 7.7% in early March, 2026. Bottle at about 45F, a portion poured into a glass. This is a pale weizen bock (label says "strong wheat"). Either description is OK by me. It's been a long while since I've had a weizen, so the review won't be too detailed. The beer is an enjoyable weizen. Flavor is nice, reminding me of regular Weihenstephaner Weizen. I don't detect much alcohol. I'll drink the stoppered remainder tomorrow.

Cloudy, light gold, big white head, excellent retention, bands of lace
Bread, underripe bananas, clove aroma
Underripe bananas, apricot, the crumb of a nice white sourdough, clove on the finish
Fluffy, medium-light bodied, well carbonated
I prefer Aventinus, but this is a nice weizenbock at the lighter end of the spectrum
