On tap into a snifter. The color is a dark coffee mahogany, with a rich cappuccino like head that falls quickly. The smell is rich dark blackberries with chocolate malt snd barley, not dissimilar to a complex barleywine. The taste is vanilla cream that fades quickly into rich woodsy blackberry, cherry, and ending on a caramelized berry note with hints of raw cacao and toffee, and rich sweet barley. The mouthfeel is incredible, rich and creamy like nitro guinness with a low-dry finish.
Wow this is an incredible pinot aged scotch, really fantastic barleywine vibes here. Incredible !

I've got a thing for scotch ales and was after the demise of McEwan's, I was Jonesing for many years. This year has been a godsend with the return of McEwan's, Leinenkugels's Big Eddy Wee Heavy, Silly Bordeaux Barrel Aged Scotch De Silly and a few good micros. This is absolutely the best. The description on the Long web site includes " just enough hop bitterness to balance the sweetness" and in my opinion, it's dead on. Of the others listed, I'd compare it to the Silly bordeaux barrel aged but I like it better. GREAT JOB Long Brewery!
