Big chewy deep flavorful Porter. Carbonation was quite low and suspect may have been a less than proper/perfect bottle. On the sweet side but enjoyed all 22oz.

Bought this at Belmont Station in SE Portland.
I'd had their IPA before. Never had the Porter. This guys stuff is expensive, and tough to find. 22oz. bottle poured into an Imperial pint glass.
A: A really dark color for a porter. Only a tiny amount of light (on the top & bottom) gets thru when holding the glass up to a light. A thin layer of toffee colored head. No lacing.
S: Smells like dark chocolate.
T: Definately tastes like dark chocolate too. A fair amount of bitterness. Notes of coffee, sweet roasted malts, and slightly (pleasant) burnt aftertaste. Really layered flavors.
M: The mouthfeel is really nice. It is clean, but chewy. The carbonation feels really nice on the back of my throat.
O: A well done product. A slightly less traditional porter then I usually drink. Only 6.2% but so dark. Big flavor profile here though. Worth seeking.
