(review from June 2019) Good pils with an interesting flavor & aftertaste that's hard to pin down. Crisp, refreshing & lightly malty finish. You tell me?

It is called a German Pilsner. An interesting beer, for sure, but I wouldn't call it a German pilsner. Instead, it is an orange hazy-bomb, heavy in body and strong with pale malt flavors. The aroma intensely malty, bready, and with a distinct grain scent. The taste is sweet with a continued malt theme. Heavy on the tongue with a firm hop bitterness. I like the beer, but not the style description.

I bought it because my son's name is Devin.
Pleasantly surprised, a fairy solid beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a rich golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, biscuits. Taste is malts, considerable hops for the style, a bit of lemons are present. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

Presentation: 12 oz can with a batch number printed bottom but no dates. Served in a stemmed stange.
Appearance: The fluffy, one finger head stays around for a while and leaves behind a thin foam ring and a lot of lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a hazy, bright gold color.
Smell: It's a strong, grainy aroma with a touch of floral hops in the background.
Taste: It's mostly malty and slightly sweet with a very soft, hoppy bitterness that shows up in the aftertaste. A subtle flavor profile but it's very well done.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied but with substance. It's quite silky but there's still some crispness from the medium carbonation. An exceptionally well balanced texture.
Overall: A tasty pilsner with a superb mouthfeel that's so easy to drink and enjoy without feeling bland.

Light yellowt gold body; mildly cloudy; thick and sticky white head, splotchy globs of suds ring the glass. Nice light cereal grain aroma; a bit of biscuit. Nice flavor combination, a bit of biscuit, some fruity esters, and a fine, balanced hop bitterness. Medium body; warm and crisp on the palate.
This German-style pilsner is rich and flavorful for the style. It is well-rounded and offers some excellent depth and character for a pilsner. A very fine beer...

Having spent the past week CANmitted to only drinking AmeriCAN CANned beers in support of (ISO) the 4th of July & then getting on a brewery horizontal kick, it is time to begin branching out again. I have plenty more to keep The CANQuest (tm) going strong!
From the CAN: "The Dude's Brew".
It was in a wee tiny 11.2-fl. oz. CAN. making me feel like a CANparative giant! I Crack!ed open its diminutive vent, lifted it up & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug, much to its delight. It was squealing & laughing like a little baby so I just let it free-flow until it was empty. The beer itself puffed up mightily to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose was stylistically correct with a pronounced honey-like breadiness with just a kiss of Sazz hops lurking in the background. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, a step or two beyond watery. The taste was the sort of mild, easy-drinking Pilsner that the style is expected to have - it was clean & crisp with a lightly malty sweetness, more bready than sweet, with a light grassiness borne of the Saaz hops. I was running through it like nobody's business! Finish was clean & dry & while it would be nice for Summer, its price point was a bit too spendy to make it a viable CANdidate. YMMV.

Omnipollo did not build its rep by crafting basic beers. But this unfiltered German-style pilsner is just that, and quite delicious. Bready and bold on the palate with a tantalizing hint of sweetness in the nose, balanced by a nice hop/malt combo that yields a great crisp mouthfeel, this 5.2% bit of brewer's art is totally refreshing, especially on warm days, and quite simply a great choice for a session beer. It's not a hearty, in-your-face Czech Pilsner, but it's not made to be. it's made to be drunk and enjoyed often, in the backyard after yard work, on the beach around a fire with friends or from a comfortable chair at the water's edge--preferably in the shade. Quite enjoyable. If you're a lager lover, this "dude's" for you.
