L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a yellowish / orange color and a mostly cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A decent, but not spectacular, aroma of hops, citrus fruit, pine, a grassy quality, malt, and tropical fruit.

T: Tasted of a bit of malt (mostly in the finish; a subtle presence), a decent amount of pine (more than expected), a fair shot of hops (not overdone - just enough), a grassy quality), some tropical fruit (mango, in particular), and a bit of citrus fruit (grapefruit). A pretty good, but not brilliant flavor. Certain elements need less of a presence. Still, not bad.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An uneven beer, but it has some good qualities. Worth a look.

Poured into a 13 oz Snulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves small little bubbles of lace with solid retention. 4.25

Smell is pear, mango, grape, and apricot. 4

Taste follows pear, grape, and mango upfront with some apricot and little must in the very unique finish. 4

Mouthfeel is a big medium, soft gentle carbonation, a tad dry, and at 7.3% very easy going down. 4

Overall this is very nice and slightly different from all the other juice bombs out. 4

Very hazy and looks just like pale unfiltered apple juice. Certainly juicy and slippery. Starts out with two strikes against it. The fruit flavor is quite intense and decent enough. The back of the throat sensation gets annoying quickly. Then there is the astringent brambly, seedy, stemmy taste. And so acidic.

Overall it tastes like the yeasty dregs of pretty good homebrew laced with fruit cocktail juice. This is the Great American Haze gone to seed. Brewed by Great South Bay Brewery, Bay Shore, New York. I suppose there must be a reason for the Swedish connection.

When brewers wise up and get out of their own way, they stop overthinking a beer recipe and they settle upon three distinct hops and a fairly straight forward grain profile. There's something beautiful in the simplicity of beer like Omnipollo's Nelson, Mosaic and Citra drenched New England styled IPA.

And that beauty starts with a frothy eggshell cap that floats on a matte golden ale. As Gematria settles down, it billows onto the nose with bold citrus notes with hints of tropical greeness and a twinge of wine and herb. Flooding the early palate with a creamy sweetness of light pastry, shortcake and agave, the malt profile is rounded, soft and cereal-like.

Then as the grain sweetness dies down a touch, the lightness of malt allows for the growth of hops to soak the palate with tangerine, red grapefruit and lime. Not to be outdone, its the passionfruit and blueberry nuances that leach into a herbal verbena-like finish laced with green tea and cedar for a smoothly bitter conclusion to the three hopped monster.

Hints of white wine ebb and flow throughout the finish as the ale trends medium long on the palate with a gentle spice of botanical gin that glows on the throat with muddled citrus and tropical fruit peels.
