Sour ale with Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, lactose sugar, cacao nibs, vanilla and peanut flour.

This looks like wine. Little fizzy fuzzy bubbles at the top. Deep and rich look like concord grape juice.

Raspberries and blackberry. Like drinking Ocean Spray... but more complicated flavors as you can taste almost wine notes. It’s amazing. This is amazing. 7%. Is it a gose as I know it? I have no clue... but call it what you want... it’s like drinking juice wine... not too sweet, not too sour, just rich flavors.

This is amazing. Did I say that yet? This is probably the juiciest sour beer I have ever had. Why did I only buy one? Amazing.

 

 

Turning beer into a sandwich is certainly no easy feat. But its a challenge that Omnipollo accepts as they put together a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that's soaked in raspberry and strawberry jam. Oh, and it fits into a beer glass.

Densely packed with fruit sugars, the dark ruby-violet Bianca Double Peanut Butter Jelly Lassi Gose oozes from the can in syrup-like fashion. As a neon mauve head builds on the rim, the mouthwatering scent of tangy fruits take on kool-aid, dried fruit and sweet wine proportions. And then the taste doubles down on the fruit intensity with jammy sweetness, fruit rollup, berry glaze flavors in a pleasantly cloying upstart.

And then the middle palate simply slathers with thick coat of sour fruitiness. Nothing short of smucker's jelly presents itself in a strawberry and raspberry blend that also shares impressions of grape, blueberry, blackberry, red grape and plum. The sourness underneath is intense with crabapple, sour grape, lime, lemon and gooseberry is a strikingly acidic offset to the immense fruit additions. With no real presence of peanut butter, the late palate is slightly drying with the taste of robust red fruited wines in a mild variation from the sweeter and more dense upstart.

Full bodied, lavish in its fruitiness and rendered to a sipping status, this Bianca Lassi version is as irresistible as it is simply strange. Finishing sweet, fruity and sour, a long and jammy aftertaste has many questioning if this is even beer anymore. While those questions persist, there's no debate that this Gose is simply delicious!

 

 

A 500ml can, with a best before date of 21st November 2020. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A deep dark purple colour with a one finger purple head that had excellent retention and left lots of nice lacing.

Aroma: Lightly sweet and tart, blackcurrant, grape jelly, jammy, with notes of peanut butter and peanuts.

Taste: Sweet, tart, buttery, grape jelly, blackcurrant, jammy, and peanut butter.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, full bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Enjoyable flavours as peanut butter and jelly does work. The base is sweet, but not too sweet as the tartness and peanut butter notes balance it out. But is this still a Gose?
