a massive ipa here featuring nelson, its a beast, and smells and tastes both a little green and a little oxidized, but cool to have it in the state of idaho, even if they are making it domestically now. hazy straw colored and undoubtedly viscous in the glass, just a short white head on it, looks a little stew-like. i smell concentrated green grape, fortified white wine, lemongrass, and something herbal, even fresh dill or something, its pungent but more from alcohol than hops, and its sweet too in a generic malty way, no reason for this to be as big as it is it doesnt seem. the flavor is solid, its a deep and intense nelson profile with a little more burn than it usually carries, mostly dry hopped too with very little real bitterness, yet the beer still drinks a little harsh due to the sheer volume of hops in it, as well as the alcohol, which is exposed every step of the way here. confectioners sugar sweetness on my teeth after each sip, offsetting some of the hops but also serving to enhance some of the candied fruitiness at the same time. i wish this was like 9% abv, this over the top strength really does not make this better, it pushes a cool flavor profile into the novelty range, not really sure the point. still quality beer here, but it cant help but be a little messy at this strength. always fun to drink beer from these guys, but its been getting odd lately, weird flavors, absurd prices, massive alcohol, its a lot even for them...

Deliciously built upon their Fatamorgona base recipe, Omnipollo has decoupled their recipe and rebuilt it stronger, bolder, more flavorful and winier. Laced with copious amounts of Nelson Sauvin hops, this Decuple Dry-Hopped ale looks for higher laurels to rest upon.

Decuple Dry-Hopped Fatamorgana Nelson Sauvin pours a turbid and pastel golden yellow hue. As its creamy ivory froth slowly pulls from the creamy body underneath, the scent billows over with a rife fruit perfume of tropical, citrus and vinous scent with hints of fragrant woods, grasses and herbs. As its creamy sweetness graces the tongue, a rich malt contribution of poundcake, honey and cereal create a creamy vanilla-like buffer on the tongue in anticipation of the hops and alcohol spice to come.

As the fruit flavors rise on the middle palate, the hops reveal a blossoming and ripe taste of pineapple, grapefruit, orange and lemon. Rounding out with a more succulent tropical zing, a taste of pineapple, passionfruit and papaya seem bursting at the seams. With a richer taste of pawpaw and apricot showing promise, the Nelson Sauvin hops wrap all this in a tangy, peppery and winey grassy taste to close out the session in a smooth by spicy bitterness.

Full bodied, creamy and plush throughout, the Triple IPA finishes malty-dry and with a spicy alcohol bite of botanical gin, vodka and curacao liquor. With the hop bitterness closing out the session, a long aftertaste of vinous spice, green tea, sassafras and verbena help with drinkability and smooth refreshment.

Drank on tap at Twelve Percent Beer Project, North Haven, CT
Served in a nonic

Gorgeous appearance. The viscous, glowing orange-yellow body was topped by a frothy, inch-tall crown that slowly dropped to a thick film. A blanket of patchy lacing coated the glass and stuck around until the drink’s end.

The aroma was amazingly hoppy and complex. Tropical fruits came through big time. Guava and papaya were most noticeable. Loads of ripe peach as well. There was an intensely dank, Mosaic hop presence too. The beer was definitely sweet overall but still balanced, especially for the extreme style and the exceedingly high ABV.

The flavor profile was nearly as impressive as the nose. Super juicy and hop forward. Loads of tropical fruitiness up front. Again, guava and papaya came to mind. Big stone fruit presence too. Ripe peach was noticeable. Malty and sweet but not excessively so. Nice weed-like dankness as well. Bit of citrus on the back end. Candied orange peel appeared in the finish. There was next to zero bitterness however.

Outstanding soft, fluffy mouthfeel. Fuller bodied for the style but not too thick or syrupy. The liquid contained a super fine, greater-than-average effervescence that felt pillowy soft on the palate.

This was my first decuple dry-hopped quadruple IPA, and it was a total banger. While many high ABV hoppy beers come across as sticky sweet disjointed messes, this was nothing of the sort.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store just around the corner. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dank fruit peel spice notes and hints of vanilla. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with stone fruit and apricot presence. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

16oz canned 10/26 chosen as my New Year’s Eve brew and poured into a Jackie O’s tulip.

A: Very attractive soft pale orange with a heavy haze to it and a tight white head with small bubbles.

S: Man, the dry-hopping leaves this one pretty insane; tropical, stone fruit, and citrus fruit are all apparent. Though they do blend together and I can’t quite pick out and identify the pieces, it’s a wonderful aroma and fairly strong and clearly Citra. Pale grains and sweet-ish alcohol behind it.

T: OK, I’m not surprised as it follows the nose, but I am getting notes that I normally get in Nelson brews; lime, diesel, tangerine, white grape...there is fairly prominent peach, mango, apricot, orange, and sweeter grapefruit. The alcohol is dancing right there on every sip at 12%, making it self known but not overwhelming you. Sweet grainy breadiness from the malt.

MF: Minimal chalkiness in this beer which I’m surprised by; no real hop burn either, which shows Omni knows how to brew a 10-time-dry-hopped New England-style Quadruple IPA. Big body in this one, with that boozy character just kept barely on a leash.

O: This was fun to try and (I think) very good. If you do try it, keep it as cold as possible to hide that booze character. The Citra is fantastic and complex in this one.

Golden and hazy with a decent just offwhite head, this beer looks nice. Surprisingly sweet and juicy flavor to this potent brew. I was Lucky to have had 2 beers before trying this beast. This is scary good because it’s easy enough to drink at 12% holy smokes.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with good-sized head of white, fluffy foam. It left sticky patches of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, pineapple and mango. Some caramel notes, too. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a sharp bitterness.

Look: A hazy orange with white foam head and lacing.
Smell: Orange papaya and guava.
Taste: Good bitterness with some citrus and various grains.
Feel: Well carbonated and creamy.
Overall: A nice and mellow IPA even with the high ABV.
