been a long time since i have seen any omnipollo been on draft, especially here in idaho, so it was cool to find this at prefunk this weekend. a monster pastry stout with a ton of cocoa, vanilla, toasted coconut, and apparently marshmallows for this variant, usually i frown upon this sort of thing, but these guys earned my unconditional trust many many years ago, even if i think a lot of this is being made domestically now, still cool to have access. shiny and viscous near black pour, not sludge but its long legged and obviously substantial, short mocha head perched on top. it smells and tastes quite decadent, but also not over the top sweet, at least in small doses, the cocoa is way up front, dark chocolate more than milk but with the other sweet elements this kind of this on both, earthy and bitter as well as desserty and sweet, some semblance of balance here. the vanilla is real but thankfully not overdone, its in the middle and doesnt burn itself into my tongue and my burps like it can in these when its forced. the coconut is more vibrant in the nose than the taste, but in the flavor, and with the cocoa and malt sweetness, it does a sort of german chocolate cake thing for me. oddly, the marshmallows do more than just add sugar, i know its a thing everyone does now, but i rarely taste them this purely, they hit real late, almost after the rest of the flavor has climaxed, white and puffy and simple, but with that specific, unmistakable flavor. i like all the body this has, i like it not relying on a bourbon barrel for its richness and smoothness, i like the chocolate being first, and i like how well hidden the alcohol is. i also appreciate the honest character of the adjuncts and the proportions are dialed. even though i really only want a little of this, the quality really stands out, especially in this style where so many sloppy overdone beers exist. i wish marshmallow beer wasnt a thing, but this is better than just about all of them in my experience. hope to see more draft around here from these guys...

edit: had this in the bottle last night, cool little bottle, had it awhile now, brought it back from europe this summer, and it smells and tastes a little oxidized, browner to me now than i seem to describe above, but certainly just as viscous, maybe some variance between batches and depending on where this was produced, seems like its had multiple origins. anyway its odd to pour, oil thick without any head, some light sediment toward the bottom, but weirdly increasingly viscous, almost syrupy at the bottom, maple syrup textured, like some sweet element has kind of settled down to the bottom of this, but we pour it right back in. papery and tired with some almost old coffee character, lots of chocolate, relaxed vanilla, walnut character, licorice, wood, and cocoa, delicious, sweet and strong, less obvious marshmallow to me now, and less well hidden alcohol, this is pretty darn boozy. still has brownie vibes for sure, a cola note as well, somewhat leathery and complex, well grounded. thick and decadent and strong, past its peak but still fun to share for my mother in laws birthday, she loves this kind of dessert beer, and this is a fun one, even a little old its better than many...

23 Dic 2021. De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Fortnite (2 victorias seguidas). Perfil a malvavisco que resulta muy amigable, haciéndola superfacil de beber a pesar del elevado abv aunque le hecho en falta más cuerpo. Avg 4.25
