The pour into a clear glass liter mug that emptied a pint can also produced plenty of just-off-white foam. It's slow in receding unevenly and it leaves a sticky and irregular residue. The body of the brew is dark orange-amber and it looks dense. This is near certainly a milkshake beer. The aroma isn't sharp, but some tangerine and hoppiness can be detected, with not so much of the white chocolate aspect. The taste is muddled, but much more like a tangerine infused IPA than a milkshake or desert beer. What the lactose does accomplish, other than the muddling of flavors, is an bothersome stickiness to the initial mouthfeel. The hops become dryly citrusy during the finish. That helps mitigate the sticky annoyance. But, there's also a noticeable alcohol burn there, too. For all of its sticky head, there's very little glass lacing. This combination of milk sugars, tangerine, cocoa and hops might not have been a wise attempt. A bold attempt, but not a very enjoyable one to partake. Overall, it does get the tangerine contribution in a nicely subtle fashion. It has, at least to taste, a decent hoppiness within its finish. Maybe something was lost in translation, but this isn't close to being creamy, despite a near excess of lactose. So, it's not a desert beer and it's an IPA spoiled because it's a milkshake IPA
and not a very good one. This probably won't satisfy anyone, whilst trying to impress, or at least please many.

This beer is exactly what it's billed as: a double chocolate tangerine milkshake IPA.
For what that is, on the other hand, you'll have to consult your own preferences and expectations.
It's very slightly sour, far less so than a sour IPA. Very creamy on the palate, and quite lively given the 8% ABV. The chocolate is certainly present, and pairs well with the tangerine, although I can't say it's a perfect marriage in an IIPA. Perhaps it presents better in the mango version of this same beer. It's really good, but not good enough that I'd rush back to it, or pay the high prices Omnipollo often commands.
Overall, they really nailed what they were going for, but it's an imperfect combination for my palate. Very, very good, and certainly worth trying.
