It sure looks like a stout, after two 11.2 fluid ounce cans have had their contents emptied into a clear glass liter mug. A beautiful pair of pours, as there's a proper dark tan head on top of a black coffee brown liquid. The smell is muddled, maybe there's a little too much going on, with coffee, lactose, coconut and strawberry flavors all infused into an Imperial Stout. Unfortunately, that's also true of its taste. In fairness, nothing seems to dominate, but it's fair to believe the label suggests more strawberry than is delivered. Mitigating the taste muddling, the body is excellent, as the lactose smooths it out without making it to viscous, nor sticky. That at least some strawberry can be detected, if deliberately sought out, is a minor plus. Coffee and coconut both have ways of overwhelming overall taste when included. They don't here.. The alcohol adds no harshness to the drinking experience. Typical of high ABV Stouts, there's no glass lacing, nor did the lovely head last long. Had this not strawberry listed on the label, it wouldn't have disappointed at all. It's a nice Imperial Stout as is, but don't expect much coconut, nor the headliner, strawberry in the taste.
