Pieces a dark black with just a ring of carbonation around the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, honey and brown sugar. The taste follows suit but adds more layers of sweetness and wood. The finish it a hit of alcohol. Moderate mouthfeel. An outstanding beer. Wouldn’t hesitate if I saw it on the shelves!

Can at share. Black pour, oily, flat except for a few stray bubbles and spots of lacing. Aroma is rick and roasty burnt toast, oak barrel, anise, coconut and vanilla. Taste adds some smooth bourbon flavors onto this heady dessert blend, sweet and strong, thick and creamy. And this is a porter to boot. Well done!

The pour is darker than my soul, with a deep brown head that left sheets of lacing.
The taste, oh my, where to begin? The coconut is the only flavor that stands out from the pack, but it is subtle and works really well. The honey is indeed noticeable, not sure what muscovado sugar tastes like but it is likely in the flavor profile as well.
A little bourbon brings the ABV in sharp focus and adds another layer of flavor.
The base porter is a huge part of this beer, some chocolate and mild coffee, some wood char which might be the only thing keeping this in line.
The feel is absolute viscosity. This was meant to be sipped and savored. I highly recommend that you plan at least an hour.
OA, amazing porter, quite possibly the best tasting one I’ve had and I live near Perrin which sells an assortment of different barrel aged porters every year.

Pours jet black, no opacity, the barest of head formation, tiny, small spots of lacing. Nose is charred barrel, heavily roasted malt, black licorice, salt water taffy, coconut, vanilla, very light bourbon notes. A very complex yet subtle aroma. Taste is coconut up front, dark chocolate, charred barrel, charcoal, maple syrup, molasses, sweet stewed cherries. As with the nose, there is a ton going on here, but it all plays very well together. Feel is pretty rich, but there's still some prickly carbonation that cuts through the heaviness. Overall, this was a really impressive beer, with the adjuncts and barrel notes all acting very complementary, something which I rarely see in these big BBA beers.
