A. Black with a very nice dark brown head.
S. A bit smokey, wood, licorice.
T. Coffee, dark fruits, hop, licorice, dark fruit. Lots of coffee in aftertaste
M. Creamy, full bodied.

A very nice, hoppy imperial stout with an evolving level of taste. Pretty bitter from both malts and hops.

The colour is dark, dark warm brown (90 EBC), the four finger head is compact and deep brown. It sinks very slowly leaving thick lacing on the glass.

The smell is rich, sweet and smooth with thick notes of brown sugar, dark chocolate, raisins and lots of prunes. Caramel, red dried berries, apricot jam and condensed milk. There are some bitter notes in the background.

The taste is semi-sweet and very smooth. Roasted, almost burned flavours. Red berries and orange marmalade, lots of butterscotch and sweetened creamy coffee. Balancing bitterness and some malt sourness. Full body. Cocoa, caramel and orange peels in the long aftertaste as well as some (well hidden) alcohol. Prunes, liquorice, red fruit candy and black coffee. The long finish is very smooth and a little salty.

The carbonation is mild, the many small bubbles smooth. The liquid is smooth, but not as thick as I had expected.

An elegant and rich imperial stout. Will probably age well for several years (this bottle was brewed in the spring of 2013).

Very dark color with brown head that stays a while. Looks really nice.
Smell is dominated by rich, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Maybe a bit of smokiness.
Huge roasted flavor, no sweetness at all. Aftertaste is pretty bitter.
Body seems medium, a bit too thin for this style. Decent carbonation.

Overall a really nice, easy drinking imperial stout. At 10% ABV, the alcohol is very well hidden. If the body would be just a little thicker...
