On draft, pours a hazy dark tan and orange, with good carbonation and a little bit of white head.
The nose is dark fruit, caramel, a little alcohol, vanilla, malt. I don't get a tone of oak, more the sweet notes of vanilla and caramel than wood. The flavor is more citrus, orange, a little honey, more vanilla. This has alot of alcohol, leaves a bitter finish, with that shot of whiskey bite. This was an interesting barrel/base beer connection. It works, but probably needs to mellow some to reach its full potential. Too hot right now for me.
