Citrocity is a fun riff that we did on Citizen, by letting the primary fermentation temperature reach 85-90 F. With a fermentation temperature that high the Belgian yeast produced some amazing fruity esters that add to the overall complexity of this one-off brew. We then dry-hopped the beer with 3 different hop varieties prized for their aromatic qualities to create a unique hop-forward Belgian ale.

Pour: Out of a growler i got at the brewery. Poured into a tulip glass. Appearance: Pale yellow or straw with some light haze. Thin white head that settles over time. Aroma: Malty with light citrus notes. Taste: Immediate light citrus nots with some light bite. Aftertaste: Finishes light and dry with consistent citrus notes. Overall: This one is an easy drinker. I enjoyed it. Good: 3 out of 5.

Growler fill at local bottle shop. Poured into my tulip. Appeared to be over carbonated, but not after tasting. The appearance was a vibrant yellowish-orange with white head that quickly dissipated. Lovely aroma, getting citrus notes. Nice flavorful citrus up front and the finish a little dry. First time having this style but you can tell it was done well. They should can this.

Poured on tap at Church key.
Deep glowing orb orange and yellow with a big bubbled collar. Milky slight appearance but with good clarity.
Aroma is quite inviting. Juiced tropical fruit, mild pineapple thick mango and some sugar sweetness.
Tangy and slight pepper, palate but moves to excellent fruit character. Sweet tropic notes in the mid palate, slightly juiced front as well. Some of the milky character continues in flavor strangely but is enjoyable.
Real nice addition to the brau lineup

As mentioned above, a riff on the traditional Citizen. High fermentation temp. Dextrose to lighten the body and Equinox, Citra, and Experimental hops.
Look: Very pretty beer. Vibrant light orange with considerable haze. Not milky in any sense though, still quite bright. Spotty lacing and a slight lingering ring.
Aroma: Aroma is akin to a Belgian IPA or hoppy saison. Lots of hop character: big citrus with some woody, dank, resiny character. Along with classic yeast esters and light fruit flavors. Just a touch of light grain aromas.
Palate: Quite nice. Quite dry. Nice use of dextrose. This marries the hops and the yeast super well. DC Brau has a knack for this (see Yonder Cities). Again lots of estery Belgian yeast and a variety of hop flavors: sweet citrus, tropical fruit, dank, resin, wood. Malt plays a backseat role. Quite dry and light bodied for the intensity of flavor.
Feel: The feel is of a 4 or 5% beer while the flavor is of a 7 or 8% beer. Light bodied for ABV but never watery. Very minimally bitter for all the great hop flavor. Medium length, super fruity finish.
Overall: This riff is an excellent one. More, please.
