Conflict of Interest - A fun, beefed up Pilsner recipe that Melvin and DC Brau came together to create. An all German malt base produces a light to medium body with flavors of baked bread and crust that play beautifully with the clean German lager yeast that was fermented cool to preserve those lager characteristics that we all have come to love. Hallertau Tradition and Saphir hops dance together to create pleasant herbal and woody notes that yield to fresh ground tea leaf with faint hints of rose and a clean finish.

Clear but leans a little darker than a standard Pilsner as well as leaning a little to the orange side. Head is nice, hanging around the edge and actually even supplying a little bit of lace on the plastic container.

Nose is floral hops and a light grainy malt. Malt base in a little more evident with a deep inhale. Not getting many distinct hop notes - tropical and floral general impression.

Myfiest sip and the distinct native note of a lager beer with the barley profile was evident. Subsequent sips it was more of just a tasty beer, with a light berry note in a green tea like bitterness that never quite balances the beer for most of it. The lingering note is about in balance, malt and an dry herbal grassy note.

Little heavier and I think it could be a little more crisp up front. Then again, it does have a little extra oomph.

Really enjoyed my first few sips. Getting through the glass, I started wanting that crispness up front, the beer was weighing on me just a tad.
