Important to note that this is a pale Weizenbock- usually they're dark. Of the few pale ones I've had this was most similar to the Weihenstephaner Vitus.

Just released this week and poured vigorously from a tallboy can (w/ a strikingly beautiful label) into one of those big new tall 20 oz. Duvel glasses:

L - Golden & cloudy w/ big traditional wheat beer head. Text-book gorgeous. Carbonation isn't as aggressive as most wheat beers

S - very mild, light white fruit, maybe some crisp bosc pear & doughy grain, hint of white pepper

T - follows the nose: mildly fruity w/ some softer pear & grains. The fruit flavors increase as it warms, the finish has the faintest estery cleanser character that dries this from the palate neatly. No hint of the 7.8% ABV

F - just like it should: creamy smooth & medium bodied with a deliciously frothy mouthfeel.
It has a refreshing crispness when it's cold and feels "heavier" as it warms, which is when the lower carbonation becomes noticeable. I enjoyed it throughout

O - this is deadly easy-drinking, especially for the ABV. Wow. It's extremely well-balanced (which seems odd to say for the style as well as my descriptions), but the fruit flavors are gentle, nothing is overpowering, and it cleans up in the finish beautifully. I'll be drinking a lot of these while it's still available
