Poured from the can into a snifter glass.
Deep mahogany brown body, with a good chestnut brown lighter edge for the body color. Head creation is a nice one finger faint tan, to yellow khaki color. Settles to a nice thin puck and creamy collar.
Very nice nose. Creamy sensing cocoa, with light cinnamon and a good sense of spiced heat. Hints even a little towards milky coffee tones as well which is a nice touch and unexpected. Soft roasted like body as well.
Palate is a real pleasure. Soft cinnamon palate mixing with a real nice dark roast and cocoa quality. The dark malts pull the beer in many directions, coffee, chocolate, and the cinnamon provides a real softness and almost exotic quality to the beer. Soft bodied, but with easy drinkability. Some of the barrel character is muted a little, but the high abv is dramatically well hidden.
Excellently crafted brew.
