Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.
Big frothy forming head, with sticky and bright white forming bubbles. Huge amounts of staying power and clingy and chunk edged lacing. The body appearance seems unfiltered, hazy with an almost lemon custard yellow but just pushes enough clarity to make it look lighter.
Interesting aroma for a pils. Hinting perhaps spicy and noble like hops, with maybe a faint touch of fruit in the background. Doesn't come off bready, or that much clean, touches a little bit of boozy heat and fusel like aromas too.
Palate is quite enjoyable though. Mid palate has an almost stone fruit, peach like flavor, coupled with some spicy and tangy hop qualities that make for a real unique flavor. No sense of fussel or boozy character on the palate, but doesn't come with much bready flavor or clean finish either. Excellent fruity finish almost creamy as well.
This really doesn't come off like a lager, but the flavor and quality at this low abv is exceptional. Not sure how "Italian" this is, it actually comes off tasting more new age American hop forward than anything, but either way it's a great tasting pils.
