To clarify about this beer: it is DC Braus Citizen Belgian pale ale with 5oz of fresh rosemary in the beer, and it has a lot of rosemary character that works with the beer nicely. Had this at pizzeria paradiso Old Town Alexandria.
The beer comes out of the cask with some nice head and lacing clinging to the glass, has a hazy orange hue. Nice fresh look.
The smell has plenty of fresh rosemary that really comes through and accents the Belgian yeast and banana clove qualities of the beer very nicely. Has an almost candy like gum drop spice quality to the smell that comes through even better in the taste.
The taste has a nice balance of the bubble gum, clove and banana of the base beer to the herbs of the rosemary. It really is nice, I think some might find the rosemary overpowering but for me it works very well with the base beer, a very clever idea.
Feel is thinner than I'd like and rolls over with some carbonation, a little more might be nice.
Overall a solid beer from my favorite local brewery to date!
